2011

- Hungry Kids of Hungary!!
- The Chemist
- Andy Bull and the boys
- Daniel Lee Kendall

I went with my housemates + some friends at the Uni bar. Definitely the longest 'small band' show i've been to. I didn't like The Chemist too much, but the Hungry Kids were fantastic! They even did a song with Andy Bull which was great fun. Although they did have an encore, i think it was quite unnecessary as they finished off with an upbeat song, then as their encore did a slow song which was apparently a cover, but of which nobody had heard of before. But overall, it was very enjoyable - and super cheap! Always a plus.

2011 +

- The Jezabels (highlight of the festival!)
- Triple J Unearthed band (they never said their name, but they were darn cool. I mean, anyone who plays the violin, the cello and a saw deserves some awe)
- Darwin Deez (hilarious on stage dancing)
- saw a bit of Sampology
- The Go! Team (lots of jumping and staring at Ninja's super fit abs)
- Architecture in Helsinki
- Art Vs Science (rowdy crowd but so much fun!)
- The Wombats (disappointingly boring)

Song that remained in my head at the end of the day: Easy To Love - The Jezabels

I did a massive writing session today - well massive for me at least. And now i'm up to 8000 words for my sga fic. :) Pretty good. And i have a fully developed plan for each arc segment too. Once i start my holidays i think i'll be able to finish it. Hurray for plans!

i feel so nervous right now. procrastination. responsibility . . .

i got myself a tumblr, i like it, but i don't think i'll post any personal stuff on there. I like having an LJ account simply to vent things, knowing that no one would probably ever read this. it's quite calming. But still as dangerous as having a real journal. I bought myself a new journal yesterday, not sure what i'll write in it. It was 75% off, so i had to purchase it, along with the thought that my other journal is lost now. I wouldn't dare think that someone from my family has found it.

In other news, i've been writing that sga fic i talked about a while ago. It's hard to get the computer for myself, with no one else around, so i can simply blast music and write. i wrote about 5000 words but i feel so sick now, probably because i know i should be doing other things. but this is once in a month chance! and i had to get it out of my system or i'd end up starting to write it at a dangerous time - or just put it aside completely. which would have probably been for the best.
. . .
I contemplated posting what i've done so far but i think i should actually get it beta read before i do that. which will happen . . . close to never.

to add to my list of musicians i've seen, i saw Eagle and the Worm at uni this year. A crowd of ten people, woo!

so . . . pretty much disappointed with the splendour in the grass lineup this year. I'm even more annoyed with the HSC now. If only i could have gone last year! The lineup this year compared to 2010's is just so mediocre. Hopefully they'll realize that diversifying is not the way to go. Hoping next year will be better. Now to watch Voyage of the Dawn Treader - finally!

I'm planning a Stargate: Atlantis fic. Initially Ronon Dex/John Sheppard, but sort of just fooling around. Then a transition to John/Rodney. I have three story arcs planned so far. . . if i get time to actually write it, it's going to be a long fic! I usually like to write fics with stories that coincide with the actual show but I don't think it will work this time around so I'm going to jumble up the events to suit what's happening in the fic. I have a definite start and end for this fic, but hopefully I'll be able to complete the middle part, which is illogically the hardest part to do for me.

this is really a test. i don't really like talking about myself that much... i mainly use lj to look at graphics and fanfic... oh. i made the banner on my lj. It's of Elijah Wood... the sample of lyrics in the sidebar is from a beautiful song called Hurt Me by the Jezabels. I thought the banner to be fitting to that song... simply because of the piano >.<
